Tire Side Economics is a program designed to help fleets evaluate tire cost. The program allows values to be inserted calculating the dollar amounts and producing cost per mile. All aspects of tire expenditures are taken in account such as; mount and dismount, valve stems, double seal caps, wheel refurbishment, casing value, vehicle life cycle, and miles per 32nd wear rates. Tire replacement cost whether new or retread is also considered during the evaluation process.
Knowing the cost of tires in a fleet operation does not mean you are doing the right things to operate at the lowest cost per mile. Tire Side Economics allows you to evaluate the tires and the complete operation around tires and wheels. It answers questions about the true value of new tires versus retreads, out sourcing some or all of the tire work, and what economic value wheel maintenance and alignment can have on tire cost.
The added value of having and maintaining a cost effective tire program is increased fuel mileage.
